Shipbroker Trainee Programme
Did you know that approx. 90% of the world’s trade is carried by sea? There are currently more than 50,000 ships out on the oceans, transporting various cargoes to make our lives easier. You can become a part of this fascinating industry – as a Shipbroker Trainee you will train to be the intermediary and trusted advisor of our many different clients in the business.
We offer an exciting career that combines your interests in shipping and international trade
You will go through a combination of theoretical education and on the job training.
Maersk Broker is present in all shipping segments – Container Vessels, Bulk Carriers, Tankers and Offshore. Based on your skills and personality, you will work in a specific area: Chartering, Sale & Purchase or Newbuilding. You will be part of a dynamic, international team and will learn everything you need to know about shipping in general - and about shipbroking in particular. After completing the traineeship, you will have all the skills that you need in order to be a successful shipbroker.
One of your colleagues in the team will be your mentor and support you throughout your traineeship. At Maersk Broker, we value teamwork and believe that our employees are our greatest assets, who benefit from the collegial atmosphere. We are passionate about what we do – and we of course expect you to be as well.
Your personality holds the key to success:
We also wish that you:
- You enjoy working with people and building partnerships
- You have good communication skills and are not intimidated by customers more senior than yourself
- You have a commercial interest and an analytical mindset
You will get a recognised education

- Have a high proficiency in English, both verbally and in writing
